IE Video Issue

ISSUES WITH INTERNET EXPLORER PLAYING VIDEO FILES

If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, you may experience an error when trying to play Microsoft Media Player video files.

Ironically, Mozilla FireFox and other standards compliant internet browsers do not have this problem!

The problem is that Internet Explorer is unable to determine what program to use to open the video file.

This may help with Internet Explorer:
1. Open Windows Media Player.
2. Go to Tools>Options>File Types.
3. Find the "wmv" file type and make sure it says for Windows Media Player to be the default program.
4. Apply, and click OK to exit Options.
5. Close Windows Media Player.

Now try to click on the video again.
Because Internet Explorer's behaviour is unpredictable, you might find that a) the video will play or b) the file will download and then play or c) the file will download, but you then need to find it to open it manually.

This issue is courtesy of Microsoft, it is not an issue caused by this web site.

Mozilla FireFox is highly recommended for a lifelong trouble-free Internet browsing experience!
